Rahul Dravid joins elite 10,000-run club

Rahul Dravid became only the sixth member of the elite 10,000-run club during the first Test against South Africa at Chennai. He reached the landmark when he moved from 79 to 80 en route to his 25th Test hundred. “The Wall” got a standing ovation from the audience at the MA Chidambaram Stadium when he achieved the feat.

Dravid joined two other Indians - Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar - in the list. The other cricketers in the list are Steve Waugh, Allan Border (both from Australia) and Brian Lara 9from West Indies). Dravid reached the milestone in his 120th Test, in a career that began in 1996 under the leadership of Mohammad Azharuddin in England.
