Indian colts lift Under-19 World Cup

India won the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia beating South Africa by 12 runs in the final. This is their second triumph in the tournament after 2000, when they last won the trophy under Mohammad Kaif.
Being asked to bat first, the Indians were bundled out for a paltry 159. Tanmay Srivastava offered some resistance top-scoring with 46. After opener Sreevats Goswami departed making six, Srivastava and skipper Virat Kohli took the score from 27 to 74 before both were caught by Sybrand Engelbrecht at point. Kohli made 19. S Tiwari and M Pandey scored 20 each.
South African captain Wayne Parnell took 2 for 21, while Matthew Arnold, Roy Adams and Mohammad Vallie also claimed two wickets apiece.
 
The target for South Africa was revised to 116 in 25 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis system because of rain, but they could finish with only 103 for 8. Rezza Hendricks was the top scorer for the Proteas with 35. Parnell made 29.
For India Argal, Jadeja and Kaul took two wickets each while Abdulla claimed one. BCCI president Sharad Pawar has announced a cash reward of Rs. 15 lakh for each member of the Indian team.
